ENERGY MEDICINE Bringing It into Health Care

Donna Eden with David Feinstein, PhD

Donna Eden

David Feinstein, PhD

Energy medicine is both a complement to other approaches to medical care and a complete system for self-care and self-help. It can address physical illness and mental disorders, and it can also promote high-level wellness and peak performance. Mehmet Oz, M.D., of Columbia University and one of the country’s leading surgeons recently stated on Oprah, “Energy medicine is the next big frontier in medicine.”

This workshop presents the assessment and treatment methods Eden considers the most important for introducing energy medicine into health care facilities and to the general population. The class will explore how this approach is being adapted as a “best-practice” model in major hospitals, such as the MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Orlando facility. In this model, energy medicine focuses upon the body’s electromagnetic as well as more subtle energies (e.g., the meridians, chakras, and aura) to promote health and healing.

Learning/Behavioral Objectives for Professional CEs

  1. Participants will be able to discuss how the flow of energy in the body affects health.
  2. Participants will be able to discuss the 14 meridians as energy pathways.
  3. Participants will be able to describe and perform one intervention that enhances the flow of the body’s energies.
  4. Participants will be able to describe and perform an intervention that enhances energy cross-overs between the right and left sides of the body.
  5. Participants will be able to describe and perform one intervention into the body’s energies that reduces emotional stress.
